Shreyanka Patil to play in the CPL, becomes first Indian to play in Women's CPL

Shreyanka Patil is a name, which has become quite popular since the past few months. The sudden rise of Shreyanka Patil was a result of the inaugural edition of Women's Premier League which happened in March 2023. And since then she has continued to up the ante. Now with the latest developments, Shreyanka Patil is going to play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League, thereby becoming the first Indian player to play in the Caribbean League.
There have been instances of Indian women cricketers playing for Big Bash League, Hundred and other few leagues accross the world. But this is the very first instance of any Indian, capped or uncapped player, to be playing in the Caribbean league. And it's not a surprise coming for her, who has been in great form since the past year.
Shreyanka Patil, who plays for Karnataka in the domestic circuit, was selected for Royal Challengers Bangalore owing to her performance in the domestic circuit and women's challenger trophy. Her stint in the WPL garnered attention across fans of women cricket. Her all round performance helped the selectors take her notice , which eventually allowed her to be a part of the ACC women's emerging Asia Cup 2023.
She made the most of her given opportunity , as she was the leading wicket taker for India in the tournament. Shreyanka's heroics in the match against Hong Kong has helped India register a massive win over the later ,as her five-for helped them restrict Hong Kong for 34 runs. Furthermore, she grabbed 4 crucial wickets in the final, and had her fair share in the team's success in the tournament, for which she was awarded player of the series. After WPL and Asia Cup, she will be looking to continue her purple patch while playing for the Guyanese team , and will try to a mark in the Caribbean Premier League, starting from 31 August.
