India started the ACC women's emerging teams Asia Cup with a bang. A strong victory over Hong Kong ensured that the confidence of the team is on a high. A small target of 35 runs given to India was chased down in 5.2 overs. The star performer for India was Shreyanka Patil.

Winning the toss, India chose to bowl on a track which supported the bowlers. Mannat Kashyap scalped the first one . Post then her U-19 colleagues Parshavi Chopra and Titas Sadhu, along with Shreyanka Patil took the attack on Hong Kong batters. Shreyanka grabbed a five-for by just giving away 2 runs.

Her magical bowling, complimented by the other bowlers helped to restrict the Hong Kong innings to 34, post which it was only a matter of time before India chased this total. In just 32 deliveries , India reached to the target with 9 wickets in hand. This spell from Shreyanka has garnered worldwide attention from cricket fans.

Shreyanka Patil is one of those names , who became popular because of the inaugural edition of Women's Premier League. Her contribution to Rcb was much appreciated, post which she got this opportunity, which she is rightly using. Along with her, few others like Kanika Ahuja showed promise in the WPL. This emerging Asia Cup is a wonderful opportunity for the stars of U-19 world cup and WPL to showcase their talent further.
