The Indian opening pair Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubhman Gill were the heroes for India as Men in Blue won the 4th match of the T20 series against Carribbean team. The youngsters thrashed the Windies bowlers to all the parts of ground and set tje tone for a magnificent victory for Indian team. In process both of them reached to their respective half centuries.
While Shubhman Gill has been a constant member of the squad since past few months, Jaiswal got his opportunity in shorter format at the international level in the ongoing series. After scoring just 1 run on his T20 debut, he made it sure that he is making the most of his 2nd opportunity. With 3 sixes and 11 boundaries, the southpaw remained unbeaten on 84 runs off 51 deliveries.
This left right combination worked for Indian in this match, as they comfortably won it by 9 wickets in hand. The opening partnership between Gill and Jaiswal reached to 165, before the latter was dismissed for 77 runs. Both of them opened their arms right from the word go, and thrashed the Windies bowlers all round the park. The partnership reminded of U-19 2020 world India's match against Pakistan, where India defeated Pakistan U-19 by 10 wickets while chasing target of 176 runs and Jaiswal was man of the match.
The overall 4th match of the series, and the first one happening in United States went India's way, thanks to the openers and bowlers. Earlier in the day, Ardhdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav were heroes for India with the ball. Arshdeep removed both the openers, and then went on to scalp the well set Shimron Hetymer. Kuldeep Yadav did what he is best known for, to dismiss in form batters. He dismissed Nicholas Pooran who is in great touch, and a result of these two bowlers, Men in Blue restricted the Windies total to 178 runs, which was chased comfortably by the team sparing 18 balls.
After Jaiswal's dream debut in tests, he has now announced his arrival in the shortest format of the game right on his 2nd outing. He looks in good rythm and understands situations and adapts to it very well. Along with him, Gill getting back to form is a great sign for the team, who have many more matches to play before the World Cup. Apart from these two, Tilak Varma and his sensible batting has impressed the critics in his debut series. Overall, looking at these three, it seems like India's future is in safe hands. Also the way Yashasvi and Tilak are batting, it seems like finally India are getting rid of their left handed batter crisis.
