Yashasvi Jaiswal is clearly stepping up to the hype he is getting, as he started his journey in whites with a century. Couple of days back, skipper Rohit had said that the team is backing Yashasvi, and he didn't disappoint them. With the hundred he joined the elite list of Indian batters to score a century on debut, with the recent one's being his Mumbai teammates Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer.

Continuing his purple patch of form, he has made his mark in international cricket on the very first occasion he got to bat at the international level. His emulated his succes in domestic cricket and the IPL , continuing to show his class. And with this hundred, he has almost cemented his place in the longest format for Team India.

He looked in complete control throughout his innings, which is still going on. He hardly played any rash shots. Earlier before the match, skipper Rahane had advised the youngsters to be patient while batting. And listening to the his domestic team captain, Yashasvi didn't rush on and kept calm. He judged the deliveries very well, and his leaves looked good. He displayed tremendous temparement in the innings which allowed him to hit the right deliveries and target the right areas on the ground. What makes this innings special is the slow outfield and ball coming on too slow.

The wicket was not too easy to bat on. West Indies were bundled for a mere 150, before the Mumbai duo of Rohit and Yashasvi took over. Both looked in good control of the game and hold their nerve against short balls, and targeted the bad balls. The duo has stitches the highest partnership for India in West Indies. With Jaiswal already in three figures, and skipper batting in 90's, India look in good position. They will look to play as long as they can, and then put West Indies on a worn out pitch trying to win by an innings. Whether that will happen or not, only time will tell. But at this point of time, everyone can see that Yashasvi's future is bright.
