Continuing their domination in the Asia champions trophy, India are crowned as the winners of the 2023 Asia cup after defeating Malaysia 4-3. With it India have lifted the cup most number of times since it's inaugural edition from 2011. The previous 3 times champions have remained unbeaten in the entire tournament, winning 6 games and settling 1 for a draw. The victory brought joy to the billions of fans who witnessed the game.

Going into the finals, the fans were hoping for a victory, and the team didn't disappoint them. The match began, and excitement of the fans rose as Jugraj Singh scored the goal in the 9th minute of the game itself giving India a lead. However, in the next 19 minutes ,Malaysia scored 3 times and put immense pressure on Indian team. The match seemed to go in Malay team's favour, however 2 goals at the end of 3rd quarter brought India back in the hunt of being the champion.

Harmanpreet Singh was the man of that moment for India. He scored on a penalty stroke, and then passed on one beautifully to Gurjant Singh who made no mistake, and both these goals coming in 45th minute helped India equal the tally of Malaysian goal count. When 4 minutes were left in the match, a brilliant pass by Sukhjeet and good finish by Akashdeep Singh put India in the driver's seat and allowed the team to take a lead. The last 4 minutes India denied any goal, and clinched on to the 4th Asian Champions Trophy title.

This match was a treat to watch for the fans. For most of the match, India was far from winning it, and suddenly they turned the tide in their favour by playing some good hockey by keeping their nerves calm. Every victory in the tournament is good, but this one was special, as this one showed the true meaning of never giving up. Hopefully this victory will be one of the many, which will help Indians divert their attention to the sport which India dominated back in till the 1960s.
