Hitting sixes is a thing every batter loves to do. And hitting six sixes in an over is a dream for many. It is even difficult to achieve this rare feat in the club level tournaments. And then there are a few batters who have proudly done it at the highest level of cricket at the international stage. Only few batters have achieved this unique feat of sending the ball in the stands 6 times in an over. Yesterday, Dipendra Singh Airee achieved the unique feat entering into the list of those elite players. The elite list is short, yet a remarkable one for the fans and for the players who have achieved it. Here's a list of all batters who have hit 6 sixes in an over in international circuit.

The latest addition to this list, the hard hitter from Nepal achieved this feat against Qatar yesterday. He did it in the last over of Nepal innings. He is known for his hard hitting prowess. Earlier in the previous year, he hit 6 consecutive sixes, but those came in 2 different overs with 5 coming in the first one and 1 on the next over against Mongolia. The same match, he broke Yuvraj Singh's record off 50 in 12 deliveries, by reaching to his half century in just 9 deliveries. He also had a strike rate of 520 in the match, making him the batter to have the highest strike rate for an innings with minimum 10 balls played.

4) Jaskaran Malhotra:

The Indian born USA cricketer Jaskaran Malhotra is 4th on the elite list, as he smashed 6 sixes against Papua New Guinea in September 2021. With his heroics he became the only 2nd player to do so in a ODI match. The same match he scored 173 runs, thereby becoming the first centurion for USA. He was away for the previous two years as he was dropped from the side in 2019 September, and he made his comeback so stronger that every cricket fan now knew his name. He hit sixes to all parts of the ground to the Papua New Guinean bowler Gaudi Toka.

3) Kieron Pollard:

It isn't a surprise that the big man from West Indies known for his sixes makes up to the list. He achieved the feat by doing it against Sri Lanka in a low scoring match in March 2021. The bowler to be at the receiving end was Akila Dhananjaya, who grabbed a hat-trick in the same match prior to what Pollard did. And what was supposed to be a good day for him ended with bitter sweet memories as the Trinidadian hit him for 6 sixes in an over. Pollard hit all those sixes effortlessly, with his own style and gave a Coolidge crowd value for money, even when their home team Srilanka were at the receiving end of it.

2) Herchelle Gibbs:

The South African legend was the first ever batter to achieve the feat in international cricket. He did it in 2007 ODI world cup against Netherlands in a rather one sided match which happened between the Proteas and the Dutch. The first 2 sixes came casually, but then the way Gibbs batted, it seemed like he decided to go for the record, which he did. His record came in the 30th over. And his innings was so impactful that in spite of Kallis scoring a hundred, player of the match award was given to Gibbs. The match resulted in a one sided victory with South Africa winning the game by a huge margin of 221 runs.

1) Yuvraj Singh:

Perhaps the best of all these 6 sixes in an over, are the ones which came off Yuvraj Singh's bat. The southpaw known for his flamboyant batting, achieved the feat against one of the best bowlers, Stuart Broad, in a must win game against one of the toughest opponents. He lit the T20 world cup stage with his 36 runs in the penultimate over. Initially hitting the sixes in a rage due to his verbal exchange with Flintoff, he then struck flurry of eye pleasing lofted shots all around the park. His one shot of 119 metres sent the ball right into hearts of all the fans. In process, he scored a 50 in just 12 balls, which was the fastest until Dipendra Airee scored a faster one in 2023. Yuvraj's heroics helped the team win a must-win game, and it elevated the confidence of a young team, which went on to win the inaugural edition of T20 world which happened in 2007.

Which of these 6 sixes do you remember and like the most, do let us know.
