Ranji Trophy is the most prestigious trophy in the domestic circuit of our country. It's a matter of pride for many youngsters to play in this celebrated league. It's a platform where the young minds take their first step towards achieving the ultimate dream of wearing the blue jersey. A result of which one sees a different brand of cricket being played in this league. The teens face the experienced international stars, to go an extra mile to etch their name in the history of this trophy. And hence, this trophy brings the best out of everyone. While some win the trophy, some others hope to win it atleast once in their career. The one's who win rarely taste the joy of success. And then there are few members who fetch it like it's a normal day in the office.

5) Baroda (5):
Baroda Cricket Association is 5th in the list with a total of 5 titles to their name. Baroda were crowned the champions for Ranji Trophy seasons of 42/43, 46-47, 49-50, 57-58 and 2000-01. They won their last title 2 decades back in 2000-01. The team from Gujarat were also runner-ups for 4 editions. Notable players from Baroda to represent India were Anshuman Gaekwad, Vijay Hazare, Gul Mohammad, Amir Elahi, Kiran More, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya.
4) Madhya Pradesh (5):
Formerly known as Holkar team, the Madhya Pradesh team boasts of 5 titles as well. While 4 of them came when team was called Holkar in 1945/46, 1947/48, 50/51, 52/53, the only title which came after team was named Madhya Pradesh was in 2021/22 under coach Chandrakant Pandit's guidance. The team was runner-ups for 7 times, and made it to the finals 11 years straight from 1944-45 to 1954-55. The first captain of India Colonel C.K. Nayudu played for this team. Other notable players were Syed Mushtaq Ali, Narendra Hirwani, Rajesh Chauhan, Kuldeep Sen.
3) Delhi (7):
The national capital of India has total 7 times to their name, out of the 15 times they have made it to the finals. The have won the titles in 78-79, 79-80, 81-82, 85-86, 88-89, 91-92 and 2007-08 seasons of the tournament. They were a dominant side in the 80's boasting players like Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, Manoj Prabhakar and few others. The team tasted last succes in the tournament as champions in the 2007-08 edition when Gautam Gambhir led team had the likes of Aakash Chopra who was a international star, and young Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli who were yet to make their debut for Men in Blue. The success of this edition prompted the board to make Virat Kohli the U-19 captain for 2008 U-19 world cup which Indian eventually won.
2) Karnataka (8):
Formerly known as Mysore team, the Karnataka Cricket Team boasts of a total 8 titles out of the 14 times they have been in the finals of Ranji Trophy. The team were crowned as champions in 73/74, 77/78, 82/83, 95/96, 97/98, 98/99, 2013/14 and 2014-15. One of the strongest boards of Indian cricket, the team has given greats like Gundappa Vishwanath, Erapalli Prasanna, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, Roger Binny, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Rahul Dravid , KL Rahul, Karun Nair and many others who became a permanent part of Indian team. The second most successful team in Ranji Trophy history has won the title twice on a trot on 2 different occasions. Their 2013-14 final saw Karun Nair score a phenomenal knock of 328, which is the highest score in Ranji Trophy final history.
1) Mumbai (41):
With a staggering 41 titles to their name, the cradle of Indian cricket are the undisputed champions of the Ranji Trophy. They have had monopoly over the game right since the tournament has existed. Mumbai has a record for winning an unbelievable 15 consecutive titles, when they won every single edition from 1958-59 to 1972-73. The team has served Indian cricket in many ways, by providing the finest talents in the cricketing world with immaculate technique and unbelievable skills. The team has given Indian team the stars from every generation like Ajit Wadekar, Ajit Agarkar, Bapu Nadkarni, Ravi Shastri, Zaheer Khan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and others. And Mumbai has produced legends of world cricket like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma.
