Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most important bowlers for India. The spearhead who made his debut in 2017 has emerged to be one of the top bowlers in the world. His toe crushing yorkers, deadly bouncers and unusual action with a short run-up make him difficult to pick. And hence, in a short time he made long term impact for Mumbai Indians as well as Indian team. And his importance was highlighted, when he was out from the team due to injury which struggled Indian bowling for the brief period he was absent. Fortunately he is back into the squad after a long period of time, and he has made an immediate impact.
In the very first over he bowled on his return to international circuit, he scalped two wickets, announcing his return in style. His fiery opening spell put Irish batters on back foot, and they hardly recovered in the match. He was economical in the match as he completed his full quota of overs with a economy of 6 rpo. Bumrah, who was announced as captain of Indian team touring Ireland, led the team well and his tactics and field placements turned out to be good on his captaincy debut.
He was adjudged man of the match award for his fiery spell. With the award, he became the first Indian captain to be awarded man of the match on his captaincy debut. He has a habit of creating records as a captain. Earlier in 2021, he smoked Stuart Broad for 35 runs in the over, making it the most expensive over in tests, a feat he achieved on his captaincy debut in Tests. It seems like he becomes a better version of himself when he is leading the side, and if it is true, he will definitely be looked up to as future captains for team India in all formats.
That's a thing might or might not happen. However, one can be sure to see Bumrah get back to what he was prior to his injury. The way he bowled must have definitely helped boost his confidence. And if it continues to be the same, he will be as threatening to the senior teams as he looks to Ireland now. He is raring to go after getting a long undecided break due to injury, and his commitment seems to be spot on. At the time, when Indian fans were deceived of happiness and disappointment continued for them due to team's performance, Bumrah's return in this form is just what they needed to regain faith in the team. If he continues to bowl the way he bowled yesterday, it's a highly likely possibility to see the Indian team look much better going ahead in the important tournaments. He is the ray of hope India needed, and let's hope to seem him dismantle the best teams in the world in the upcoming world cup.
