Late night when most of the Indians were asleep, Indian team defeated the West Indian team by an innings and 141 runs. A dominant performance by India gave no chance for Caribbean team to bounce back in the game. Although the victory has not come against current dominant test side, it will still give the fans a sense of satisfaction.

Ravichandran Ashwin, the spin maestro rattled the West Indian lineup by scalping 7 wickets in the match alone. In process, he grabbed his 34th 5-wicket haul, and 2nd in this match. Grabbing 12 wickets overall in the match, the West Indies could not withstand his bowling and succumbed to it. Ashwin's heroics , along with couple of wickets from Jadeja and one from Siraj propelled India to a victory as Westindies were bundled for 130 runs.

Earlier in the match, the debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal made his mark in international cricket with a magnificent knock of 171 runs. Along with him, skipper Rohit Sharma's century, and Virat Kohli's knock of 76 runs helped India reach to a good total of 421 runs. With nothing to lose from the position, India declared as Kishan scored his maiden run in tests.

Jaiswal was declared player of the match for his impressive debut. The victory marked the beginning of WTC cycle 2025 with a win for India. Although it won't redeem the WTC final result, it would give some moments of joy for the team. As a Indian cricket fan, it's good to see team win big, but as a cricket fan, it's sad to see the downfall of West Indies.
