Often the opponents who peak early have a possibility to slow down their chances of lifting the title. On contrary, the opponents peaking late in the league stages are the most threatening one's. It is observed on a lot of occasions. The journey of Mumbai Indians for all their title winning editions has been the same. Similar was seen when Australia lost a few matches early on in 2023 World Cup, were at the bottom of table after 2 matches and then went on to peak at the right time thereby winning the world cup. And quite similar to Australia's journey in the 2023 has been the entire tournament for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Who would've thought after the first 8 matches that the Men in Red would qualify for the knockouts. The team was reeling back with 7 defeats in their first 8 matches. Being at the bottom of the table for quite a significant time, it looked like as usual they needed calculators out. Even the most loyal fans had lost their hope of a resurrection. And just when it seemed like the team might once again meet their usual fate, the transition happened. The miraculous turnaround saw the team win all the remaining 6 games in the tournament, and defeating the joint most successful team CSK, the Men in Red sealed their spot in the playoffs.

When everyone had lost hopes, RCB made a strong statement to defeat the highly in form Sunrisers Hyderabad in a must win encounter. The immediate next match saw the heroics of Will Jacks and Virat Kohli, which propelled them to a phenomenal victory. And then, the team didn't look back. Taking one game at a time, they emerged victorious over all the opponents turn by turn with clever strategy and high intensity. The adrenaline rush gradually increased with every encounter, with the apex being reached in the knockout like match against CSK. And they managed to win the high pressure game, even when the opposition player had the best finisher and master of handling pressure in the form of Dhoni.

The animated faces in the crowd and on the field said it all about what this victory meant to RCB. On the 9th occasion they have reached in the playoffs of the league history. And out of all the 9 occasions, they look the most threatening in this year. With their confidence skyrocketed by consecutive 6 wins, they now look all set to have their first well deserved trophy. And knowing that SRH, RR and KKR have not been in that great form in the past few matches, makes RCB's case even stronger. It will be a contest of a team high on confidence battling against the one's who've recently lost a few matches. And looking at Australia's case in 2021 T20 world cup and 2023 World cup, it's fair to say that the team peaking at the right time has the highest chance of being the champions.

And that's exactly what everyone wishes to see. Every person can see the hunger in Virat's eyes to have his hands on this prestigious trophy. And with the way their team is cruising, it seems to be a high possibility of the same happening this year. Seems like this year is RCB's year. Just a couple of months back, RCB women lifted their first title. And their journey was quite similar to their male counterpart's journey. Which is why, it would be a matter of pride if RCB manage to win this one. If it happens, the best batter in the world will break the jinx and get his well deserved trophy, and the most loyal fanbase of all time will finally get a reward to their loyalty. Hoping to see both of it happen. Best wishes to the entire RCB contingent.
